Native American Heritage Month Programs Continue at the San Antonio Public Library

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 14, 2017) — The San Antonio Public Library continues to celebrate Native American Heritage Month, also known as American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, with interesting and informative programs and events that celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Native people. Listed below are programs coming up this week:

Native Americans in the San Antonio Area
Collins Garden Branch Library (200 N. Park Blvd., 78204)
Thursday, November 16, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

McCreless Branch Library (1023 Ada St., 78223), Saturday, November 18, 3-4 p.m. Come and join us in discovering about the Native American groups living here in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. The presentation will not only cover the fascinating history of these groups, it will also explore their evolution into today’s society.

Saturday, November 18, 1-3 p.m.
Join us as Ramon Juan Vasquez, member of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan and Executive Director of the American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions, as he demonstrates ways to track your Native American roots.
